The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Shakespeare's Birthday Celebration

Yes, it is the Bard's birthday for the 446th time. The library will be celebrating on Saturday, April 24th from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Dramatic scenes by Christine Davet, Bruce Dinsmore, & Heather Markgraf. Wandering Minstrels, Palm Reader and Numerologist Antonio Santos, Renaissance Food and Drink, Winners of the Shakespearean Portrait Contest and Shakespearean Sonnet Contest, Face Painting and Craft for Children. All Ages WELCOME!
There are two contests with prizes:
- An original sonnet writing contest following the Shakespearean form of 14 lines in iambic pentameter, following the rhyme scheme of ABAB CDCD EFEF GG.
- "What Did Shakespeare Look Like?"an original portrait contest in any medium.
Entries for both competitions are due by Thursday, April 22nd and can be dropped off at the library or sent to the library email address. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded during the party on April 24th.
