The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Mona Awad

Mona Awad was born in Montreal and has lived in the U.S. since 2003. A graduate of York University in Toronto, she also received her MScR in English Literature from Edinburgh University. She has worked as a freelance journalist, food columnist, and is currently pursuing a PhD in creative writing from the University of Denver.
The library has recently acquired a copy of her debut novel, 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl. Described as brilliant, hilarious and shocking, Awad skewers the body image-obsessed culture that tells women that they have no value outside their physical appearance, and one young woman's struggle to conform. Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Indian Summers

Indian Summers is an epic British drama series which details the events of summers spent in Simla in the Himalayan foothills, by a group of British socialites at the time of the British Raj. The first series is set in 1932 when the Indians were dreaming of independance, and explores the collision of the British ruling class with their Indian subjects, and the intricate game of power, politics and passion that ensues. Murder Ink - Simon Toyne

Simon Toyne graduated from Goldsmiths College in London with a degree in English and Drama then worked in television for almost 20 years before becoming a novelist. His first book, Sanctus, became the biggest selling debut thriller of 2011 in the UK and also an international bestseller.
In 2013 Toyne signed a five-book deal with HarperCollins for a new series following an enigmatic character called Solomon Creed on an epic quest of personal redemption. The first book, The Searcher, was published in 2015 and recently acquired by the Library.
