The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Nadia Hashimi

Nadia Hashimi was born and raised in New York and New Jersey, both her parents come form Afghanistan. She obtained a medical degree and then trained in paediatrics at New York University. After qualifying, she turned to an unexplored passion and started writing. Her first novel, The Pearl That Broke Its Shell, came out in 2014, followed by When The Moon Is Low in 2015. Her upbringing and experiences come together in the form of stories based in the country of her parents and grandparents. The library has copies of all of her novels including her acclaimed new work, A House Without Windows. She lives and works in Maryland with her husband and four children.
